The Marathon and Half Marathon will be professionally timed by 26.2 Race Timing. The chips will be attached to the back of your bib so please don’t wrinkle or stuff the bib in your pocket. Note: If you alter or damage your chip your time may not be read correctly. Wear your bib on the outermost layer of clothing. Your chip time will begin when you cross the starting line so you don’t have to be toeing the line. We will have corral sections marked with estimated paces. Find your projected pace and fit on in! If you will be one of the top 10 runners please try to position yourself at the front of the line.
You voted, we listened. Over 75% of our runners have voted to keep our race ending at Lone Peak High school!
The Timpanogos Half Marathon is a downhill course that begins at Tibble Fork in American Fork Canyon. As you run down the canyon you will experience the cool mountain air as well as the natural beauty of the canyon. Once you exit the canyon you take a slight left and run on the Highland City Trails. These trails are paved and offer a pleasant running envinorment without any cars or traffic. Those trails will then lead you to the new Murdock Canal trails, which are also paved. These trails provide a scenic view through Highland and Cedar Hills. These will then lead you to the finish line which is at Lone Peak High School.
Please email us with any questions you may have about the course to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Course Closure and Restrictions
The first 2.5 miles of the race, runners will have the road completely closed so feel free to run on the entire road. Once turning right onto SR92 the outbound (right) lane will be closed to cars and bicycles until 8 AM. Runners are not allowed to run in the inbound (left) lane on SR92. All runners must be out of the canyon by 8 AM. Since this part of the race is 7.5 miles, you should average a 16 minute mile to make this cut off. After exiting the canyon the course remains open until the last runner finishes.
Check back for the 2014 official sponsors.
Please be sure to bring ID to be shown for confirmation. Friends can pick-up your race bag with written, signed approval and a copy of the participants ID.
All runners will receive a high end gender specific running shirt and other items in the bag from our sponsors. All finishers will also receive a beautiful finisher medal. The Half Marathons and Full Marathons have different medals. Upon arrival at packet pickup our volunteers will direct you to the correct line to pick up your number.
Absolutely no bib numbers will be available for pick-up on race day, Saturday, July 19th.
How the bag works
Your bib and timing chips will be picked up with your bag and shirt. If you plan on wearing warmer clothes up to the start line, you can use your race bag to hold any extra clothing during the race. You will be given a zip tie in the bag to attach your "bag tag". This is necessary to identify your bag for retrieval at the finish. We will provide a Bag Truck to transport your gear to the finish line. All bags must be collected 15 minutes prior to the start of the race. The bag truck will leave at 5:45 AM.
Any clothing dropped along the course will be donated to Deseret Industries as a charitable donation. Please respect the canyon and help us keep it clean by dropping clothes and any trash at designated aid stations or in trash receptacles.
Check back later for 2014 packet pickup locations!

All runners must ride the buses to the starting area. Your bib is required to get on a bus. Buses depart Lone Peak High School from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM. We know it’s early! The narrow canyon and protecting the marathoners running up at the same time make it necessary to spread the buses out evenly during that time. Please make every effort to arrive early with time to spare.
Getting to the start early will allow you to revel in the cool mountain air by the Tibble Fork Reservoir, access toilets first, and participate in the early morning Yoga in the starting corral. GET THERE EARLY!
Race Start time is 6:00 am for the Timpanogos Half Marathon. The starting line is at Tibble Fork in American Fork Canyon. Sogonapmit Marathon runners, please see the Sogonapmit page for your race day instructions. Having the race at 6 AMT will allow the course to be completely light when you start running. Please plan your race preparations accordingly. At the starting line there will be three groups of toilets, the larger of the three will be immediately to your left as you disembark the bus into the staging area. There will be additional sets at the start and toward the back of the starting corral. If you have to go, that’s where you should head! The race will begin promptly at 6:00.
While the canyon is inaccessible to your fans they are more than welcome to join the crowd to cheer as you
run and finish. Along the Cedar Hills trail there are several intersections which are great places for them to cheer. Also as you exit onto Harvey Blvd they can park in the Elementary School and scream for you as you start on the home stretch. At Lone Peak High School the South side of the school is open for parking. The finish line will be lined with fans cheering on your success.
